Why does my iPhone photo upload as an HEIC with a random name?

iPhones use HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) as the default photo format. StackerScan supports HEIC where photo upload is available, but a generic filename may be assigned. To preserve a filename of your choice, convert the photo to JPEG before uploading: Easiest way to convert to JPEG on a Mac In Finder, right-click your photo. Choose Quick Actions → Convert Image. Select JPEG and your preferred size. Rename the new file before uploading — your name will stay intact. Easiest way to convert to JPEG on your iPhone Open the Photos app and select your picture. Tap the Share button → Save to Files. Open the Files app, find the photo, then tap and hold it. Tap Quick Actions → Convert Image → JPEG. Rename it if desired, then upload — StackerScan will keep your filename where filename preservation is supported. NOTE: Safari has a known bug that converts images into HEIC when uploading to certain websites. If your image is a JPEG or PNG but still uploads as an HEIC (thus losing a filename you'd like to preserve), please switch to a different browser.
